If you haven’t read my introduction to the house of Delvaux yet, first head over to my previous post right here!

Now in this post I’ll tell you why it’s a good idea to invest, yes it’s an investment, your money into a Delvaux, above all other designer bags.
I have my fair share of designer bags carefully archived in my closet, but none are more precious to me than my vintage Delvaux and my most recent buy, the Delvaux Brillant X-Ray.

When visiting the Delvaux atelier in Brussels, I discovered that all is created by hand, like the hands of the man you see in the pictures, working here for most of his life, dedicating it to the craftsmanship that is the house of Delvaux.
No industrial feel here, leather is selected from the finest hides in the leather library, scanned for mistakes, carefully cut into patterns and assembled by hand. When you buy a Delvaux, make sure to ask about the leather and techniques used to make your new bag, it’ll only make it more beautiful.
There’s no point in rushing things when putting together a Delvaux, so you pay for commitment, the finest quality of leather, love for the trade and the time taken to make these beautiful bags.
When it comes to exotic leathers, these are only processed in the Belgian atelier, as it is a rare trade to be able to work these leathers into beautiful bags. So you’re not only paying for the exotic part of your stingray, lizard, croc, ostrich or snake skin, you’re paying for unique craftsmanship.

And the best part? Make a life partner out of your Delvaux all you want, go and have adventures together, let your daughter inherit your Delvaux… When it has lived to see better days, turn it into the Delvaux clinic. They keep a record of all their leathers used in past collection, dating back to the first days of Delvaux, in their leather library, so they can always fix your life companion at any day and age. That’s what I call service, commitment and slow fashion. Delvaux forever.

Stay tuned to find out about my favorites in Delvaux‘s Fall Winter ’14 collection…
