When we discovered Manufactuur.be, a minimalistic and stylish Belgian online boutique, we knew we had to introduce you to them in our own merry way! That’s why, one fine and sunny day, we decided to pick out our favorite outfits and go sailing in the Antwerp harbor! The lucky boat? The sailing yacht of Bregt Swinnen en Lynn Van Den Broeck, our fantastic photographer, who will be sailing the world for two years as from July, you can follow their adventures on their travel blog!

The lady behind the shop? Anke Speelman! Mother of three, with no time to shop during the day and hopelessly looking for her own style in the Belgian online offer, decided to start her own online boutique 2,5 years ago. And she’s doing a great job if you ask us! Anke offers a great mix of timeless design brands and pieces soothed for all kinds of occasions by dressing things up or down. Slow Fashion is the new black. “If you invest into a piece, you should be able to wear it in different ways and get the fullest out of your investment. Also, as a mother, you don’t always find the time to change your whole outfit several times a day. Changing some details should do the trick! Beautiful quality will get you a long way.”
Quality and detail above all. That’s what the name Manufactuur stands for. Anke loves smaller labels with a story, craftsmanship and originality in their approach. For example part of the Aiayu collection is handmade and the knitters embroider their name into every piece they make, this takes away part of the anonymity in todays fashion. Other beautiful brands in the Manufactuur portfolio are among others Dutchess, Les Prairies De Paris, Lore van Keer, Marie-Sixtine, Ellen Truijen…
Manufactuur.be is what you call a full-on online boutique. They offer you the same service and more than in a real-life shop. You can ask Anke any question about any garment and if you’re still doubting after that, you can always pay her a visit at her beautiful home in Merelbeke, where you can try-on all the things you love with a drink in your hand in her lovely company. She’ll always have a few tips up her sleeve, knowing her products by heart.
